Both tests require your browser's camera/microphone permission - you'll see your browser's own "Allow?" prompt, not anything on this page, and can deny it at any time. Nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere unless you click Take Photo, which captures a single still frame onto this page only - it's never uploaded, and only leaves your device if you click Download. Video, audio, and any photo you take stay local to this browser tab and stop or clear the instant you click Stop, close the tab, or navigate away. If you switch cameras or microphones mid-test, restart the relevant test to pick up the new device.
If nothing happens after clicking Start, check that no other app (video call software, another browser tab) already has the camera or microphone open - most browsers only allow one active user at a time per device.
