Applicability
This privacy notice applies only to https://mybrowserinfo.blogspot.com and explains our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of visitor information. Visitor information collected here is used only as outlined in this notice.
Other websites, including any you reach via links from this site, may collect and use visitor information differently. This site is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites.
What This Site Does Not Do
Before the details below: this site has no user accounts, no sign-up or login, no contact forms, and does not knowingly collect or store any personal information from visitors. Nothing you type, click, or capture using the tools on this site is transmitted to us or stored on our servers. There is currently no advertising and no analytics or tracking software running on this site.
Collection and Use
Standard Web Server Logs
This site is hosted on Blogger (a Google product). Like virtually any website, routine technical information is automatically logged by the hosting infrastructure when you visit a page, including your IP address, browser type, the date and time of your visit, and the page requested. This is standard server log data generated by Google's hosting platform, not something this site separately collects, stores, or has access to beyond what Blogger's own systems retain. See Google's Privacy Policy (linked below) for how Google, as the host, handles this.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies of its own. As of this policy's effective date, we've verified this directly: no first-party cookies are written on any page. Google's Blogger platform may set its own cookies for its own functionality (for example, if you sign in to leave a comment via a Google account), which is outside this site's control - see Google's Privacy Policy for details on that.
Google Fonts
Pages on this site load typeface files directly from Google's font servers (fonts.gstatic.com). This is a standard, static resource load with no cookies involved, but as an inherent side effect of the request, your IP address is sent to Google's servers to retrieve the font file, the same as with any resource hosted off-site.
The IP Address & Location Lookup Tool
The "What Is My IP Address?" page works by having your own browser make a direct request to two third-party lookup services - ipify.org (for your public IP address) and geojs.io (for approximate city/region/ISP information) - and displaying what they return. These requests go straight from your browser to those services; nothing passes through or is logged by this site's own servers. Each service operates under its own privacy practices, which this site does not control.
The Webcam & Microphone Test Tool
The "Test My Webcam and Microphone" page requests camera and/or microphone access using your browser's own built-in permission prompt - you can decline it at any time. Video and audio from your camera/microphone are processed entirely within your browser and are never transmitted anywhere or stored by us. If you use the optional "Take Photo" feature, the captured image stays on the page you are viewing and is never uploaded; it only leaves your device if you explicitly click Download.
The Mouse and Keyboard Test Tools
These pages read standard mouse and keyboard events (clicks, button presses, scroll, key presses) using your browser's built-in APIs, entirely to display that activity back to you on the page. None of this activity is transmitted anywhere or stored by us.
Advertising and Analytics
This site does not currently run any advertising or analytics software. If that changes in the future (for example, if Google AdSense is added), this policy will be updated first to disclose it, including what data would be collected and how to opt out where applicable.
Social Sharing
Post pages include a "Share" button provided by Blogger. Clicking it links out to the third-party platform you choose (such as X, Facebook, or Pinterest); each has its own privacy policy governing what happens after you leave this site. No sharing widget runs or loads on the page unless you click it.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 years of age and does not knowingly collect any personal information, in any form, from children under 13.
Disclosure of Information
Because this site does not collect personal information from visitors in the first place, there is generally nothing of that kind for us to disclose. The narrow exception is if we are required to respond to a valid legal request (for example, from law enforcement) concerning standard hosting logs described above, which are held by Google as the hosting provider, not by us directly.
Your Privacy Rights (EU and California Visitors)
Some regions grant residents specific rights over their personal information - for example, the European Union and EEA under the GDPR, and California under the CCPA/CPRA - including rights to access, correct, or delete it. Because this site does not collect, store, or maintain any personal information about its visitors (as described above), we hold no such data for you to access, correct, or delete. Any standard hosting logs are held by Google as the hosting provider; please see Google's Privacy Policy for how to exercise rights regarding data Google holds. If you have questions about your privacy rights in relation to this site, you may contact us as described in the Contact section below.
Security
Due to the nature of the Internet, no transmission of information can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While the tools on this site are designed so that sensitive data (camera/microphone streams, keystrokes, mouse activity) never leaves your browser, we cannot guarantee the security of the underlying browser, network, or third-party services (Google Fonts, ipify.org, geojs.io) involved in using this site.
Links to Third-Party Sites
This site links to third-party services (including ipify.org and geojs.io, used by the IP lookup tool) and may link to other external sites. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or privacy practices of any third-party site.
Changes to This Policy
This notice may be updated as the site changes. Any change that would add advertising, analytics, or any new form of data collection will be posted here in advance of that change going live. Check back periodically if you have concerns about how visitor information is handled.
